The article discusses the geolinguistics of Serbo-Croatian language, focusing on five Sprachbünde: Carpathian, East Balkans, Parmonian, Eastern Alps, and Dalmatian Adriatic. The author explores the dialects Cakavian, Kajkavian and Stokavian (under which he includes Torlak). He investigates Serbo-Croatian as a bridge between the Balkan and Central European Sprachbünde, focusing on morphosyntactic features. Other topics include the future tense, the system of preterite tenses, and the pluperfect. The impact of political borders, migration, and language standardization are also examined.
