- Title
Abstinence, protection, and decision-making: experimental trials on prototypic AIDS programs.
- Authors
Hernandez, Jeanne T.; Smith, Frank J.
- Abstract
The article presents information on experimental trials on prototypic AIDS programs. According to article authors the philosophic orientation of the programs did not in itself determine subsequent behaviors for a college sample. Factor analyses of behavioral intentions relating to the AIDS epidemic includes sexual motivation on dates, safe sex intentions, caution and concern about dating due to AIDS and respect for partners who want to delay sex. The results of the first sample of college students revealed infection rate of two per 1000 students which suggests that almost 25000 college students are already infected from HIV/AIDS.
