- Abstract
The article comments on a study by T.L. King and colleagues on the evolutionary distinction of the meadow jumping mouse scientifically named Zapus hudsonius preblei which was proposed for delisting from the U.S. Endangered Species Act. The article focuses on King and colleagues' morphometric considerations, conceptual basis and thresholds for uniqueness, distinction between biological and statistical significance, sources of specimens, sampling distribution, mitochondrial DNA sequences and standardization.
