The article focuses on the popularity of white bread made from refined wheat flour in Australia as compared to gluten-free and wheat-free products. Topics discussed include the recommendations of wheat intake from the Australian National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC), difference between the grain used in white bread and whole bread and the relationship between increased weight and white bread. Other topics discussed include glycaemic index (GI) of white bread.
