- Abstract
The article refers to a comment by Peter Drucker concerning the business purpose of creating customers, the demand for democracy in industry, and the essential quality of integrity in leadership and management. An example of a United States Army communication is given to explain how integrity relates to a person's total commitment to the organization's purpose and the responsibility of being honest with subordinates. The chain of command and channels of official communication, the staff-line relationship in business, and formal organization structure are mentioned.
