- Abstract
The article describes the case of a 77-year old female patient with symptomatic external carotid artery stenosis. The patient underwent fundoscopic examination of the left eye, a carotid ultrasound scan, a computed tomography (CT) scan of the head, a CT angiogram of the neck, and carotid and cerebral arteriogram. Treatment included the administration of clopidogrel and a left external carotid endarterectomy. The use of color-coded Doppler flow imaging in such case is proposed.
