- Abstract
One complex, Zn (LPy)2 was synthesized from the reaction of benzylidene acetone benzoyl hydrazone (HL) with Zn(NO3)2, and characterized by FTIR, thermal analysis and single crystal X-ray diffraction. The results of structural analysis indicate that the complex is distorted octahedral. The complex belongs to triclinic system, space group P-1 with a=1. 075 63(18)nm,b=1. 357 9(2)nm,c=1. 440 2 (2)nm;a=83. 503(3)°,β84. 282(3)°, y=66. 818(3)°,V= 1.917 8(5)nm3,Z=2, F(000) 788, R1 = 0. 049 6. Agar diffusion method using filter paper measured the antibacterial activity of ligand and com- plexes on E. coli, S. aureus and P. aeruginosa these threebacteria. Results show that ligand and complexes has good inhibition on selected bacteria species.
