- Abstract
The article focuses on several letters written by noted novelist Willa Cather to her friend Annie Fields. The author discusses four letters at the Huntington Library, which also contains letters from Cather to friends Mary Austin and Zoë Akins, and a letter to Cather from writer Sarah Orne Jewett. Biographical information collected from the letters, including Cather's appreciation for the city of Boston, Massachusetts is discussed. Information on Cather's efforts to prevent biographers from finding letters she had written is presented.
