- Abstract
The article discusses freedom of speech rules in international law in relation to the Internet, international human rights laws, and the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution as of 2014. Internet censorship and the legal aspects of hate speech in America and other nations are addressed, along with various concerns about the apparent influence of social media. Internet governance and the United Nations General Assembly are examined, along with social networks such as Facebook and Twitter.
