- Abstract
The article discusses the intersection between race and ethnicity in the history of Japanese Canadians in Vancouver, British Columbia as exemplified by the use of Sandiford intelligence testing in Japanese Canadian school children in 1925. Topics addressed include the possibility of using the Sandiford test in immigration restriction, the rise of anti-Asian lobbying in North America and hierarchy of ethnic Japanese. The impact of immigration restriction on international relations.
