- Abstract
The article discusses the risks and effective interventions that reduce falls in older adults. It notes the risk factors for falls in the elderly including mobility impairments, cardiac and psychotropic medications, social isolation, sidewalks, and excessive alcohol intake. Also, it mentions on the interventions for falls prevention such as formal assessment of vision, reduction in the number of drugs used, exercise programs, and patient education.
