- Abstract
The article presents a commentary on the paper "To Screen or Not to Screen: Factors Influencing the Decision to Participate in Prostate Cancer Screening Among Urban African-American Men," by K. O. Plowden. Based on statistics, the population is not faring well in regard to early cancer detection. Several studies dealing with the health behavior of the group towards cancer screening are cited. Increased risk, as well as difficulty in reaching and motivating them to seek early care, is evident.
