- Title
More effort needed to prevent children falling from bunk beds.
- Abstract
The article presents a study which examined bunk bed-related injuries among children and adolescents treated in emergency departments in the U.S. In this study, researchers noted cases of non-fatal bunk bed-related injuries treated from 1990 to 2005. It notes that half of the injuries happened in schools which involved people aged 18 to 21, while an estimated 2.9 per cent resulted in hospital admission, transfer to another hospital, or more observation.
