- Abstract
The article features several Aboriginal entrepreneurs who are focused on environmental ventures. Michael Fox of Fox High Impact Consultation helped in forming the Niskipi group of companies through a partnership with equity funders to carry out natural resources projects. He is also part of the Green Energy Act Alliance, an Ontario-based renewable energy advocacy group. Peter Penashue of the Innu Nation supported negotiations for the Impact-Benefit Agreement (IBA) in 2002 with Vale Inco to boost the nickel mine of the Voisey Bay. Judith Sayers, chief of the Hupacasath First Nation in Port Alberni, British Columbia, initiated environmentally and culturally sustainable methods.
