- Abstract
In the present study, the factors affecting production in dairy livestock farms benefiting from governmental incentives and supports were evaluated in the sample of TRA1 NUTS II Region. Material of the study includes data obtained under 182 titles from the questionnaire applied in the farms in TRA1 Region covering the provinces of Erzurum, Erzincan and Bayburt. In the scope of the study, Log-OLS models were used to determine Gross Product Value (GPV), animal based (ab) GPV and dairy based (db) GPV in animal farms. It was determined according to the results of analyses that GPV was higher in the farms owned by university graduate people, having enough spaces for forage production, producing silage and closed livestock barn. On the other hand, farms breeding native animal races and member of breeding livestock association showed lower GPV. An increase in the rate of financial support in livestock breeding might be said to cause an increase in GPV by 17%. In Log-OLS method, it was found when (ab) GPV is considered that number of cows, milk yield and the presence of culture animal may increase (db) GPV. In addition, (db) GPV was also found to increase in farms having an animal registry system. When the number of native livestock race increased (db) GPV was seen to reduce. When the unit effect of independent variables was considered on (db) GPV, it was found that the farms with semi-closed barns and arable spaces showed higher unit effect. However, increase in the number of cows may cause an increase in (db) GPV. In addition, aged farmers were determined to decrease (db) GPV.
