- Abstract
The patient was diagnosed systemic sarcoidosis based on non-caseating granuloma with Langhans type giant cell by the biopsy of submental lymph node (Figure 4). B The conduction disturbance was disappeared after corticosteroid therapy Graph: Figure 2 A Transthoracic echocardiography revealed asymmetric left ventricular hypertrophy of the antero-septal wall (red arrows) measuring 16 mm at end diastole. Persistent granuloma inflammation in the heart causes myocardial thinning due to fibrous scar formation leading to fatal arrhythmias, conduction abnormalities, and left ventricular dysfunction.[1],[2] On the other hand, granuloma inflammation may cause myocardial thickening at an acute stage.
