- Authors
Santen, Richard J.
- Abstract
The author reflects on the effect of menopausal hormone therapy which may lead to cause new breast cancer or promote the growth of new cancer. The author said that eight studies were conducted which examines the breast tissue of 952 women in order to determine how many occult breast cancers existed. He reports that the removal of the ovaries before the age of 35 years reduces the lifetime risk of breast cancer and decreases the risk from the occurrence of cancer.
