Michael Arlen's Time.

- Abstract
Michael Arlen was one of the most prominent writers of the early 20th century. His early works explored issues common among Armenian immigrants. However, after the Armenian literary community took a comment that he made about Armenia out of context, Arlen made the decision to keep silent about his identity in his future works. His silence led to increased criticism from Armenians that he abandoned his Armenian roots. This article takes a new look at the controversy, surveying briefly the corpus of Aden's work, and argues that Arlen's place in the Armenian literary canon needs to be revisited.
