- Abstract
This document is an introduction to a thematic set on Asian climate published in the journal Quaternary Research. It explains that Asia is not only the largest continent but also home to the majority of humankind, with a wide range of environments. The document highlights the importance of understanding past climate changes and their impacts on landcover, vegetation, ice distributions, sea-level changes, and human society developments. It also emphasizes the need to study external forces and their impact on Asia, as well as the role of glaciations and sea-level changes. The document briefly summarizes four papers included in the thematic set, which cover topics such as glaciation patterns, sea-level rise, grassland changes, and climate impacts in the Tengger Desert. The authors express gratitude to the PAGES Organizing team and reviewers for their contributions.
