- Abstract
The article provides information on catheter breakage, a complication of epidural anesthesia. A case is presented in which a patient was administered epidural analgesia for labor. On examination of the removed epidural after labor, the epidural catheter tip was found to have sheared off at the most proximal aperture. The radiographs and magnetic resonance scans were not able to image the catheter fragments but the patient recovered without any neurological symptoms or pyrexia.
