- Abstract
The article examines the basic principles underlying software licensing including its copyright and licensing protection in the U.S. The procedural background and Ninth Circuit's holding of the Supreme Court case "Wall Data Inc. v. Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department" were discussed. Key information about licensing issues concerning the fair use doctrine is further presented.
