- Title
John Murray's Quarterly Review. Letters, 1807–1843. Ed. by Jonathan Cutmore.
- Authors
McKitterick, David
- Abstract
The barrister William Wright, advocate for Lockhart, was clear about the publisher: 'Murray's views are entirely directed to the acquisition of wealth'. Cutmore not only prints for the first time the many excisions in the draft (now in the Murray archives), but also uses various typographical ruses to demonstrate how Murray struggled to compose it at a critical moment. During this time the I Quarterly i had just three editors, William Gifford, John Taylor Coleridge, and J. G. Lockhart.
