- Title
Ion channels: Cooperativity in twin gatings.
- Authors
Zhou, Lei
- Abstract
The article offers information on the role of ion channels to the molecular process of twin gatings or the membrane potential or voltage and ligand gating. It highlights the roles of hyperpolarization-activated cyclic nucleotide-gated (HCN) channel to the process. It mentions the patch-clamp floumetry (PCF) to measure ligand binding events and channel opening. It also discusses the differences between voltage and ligand gating in HCN channels in terms of subunit cooperativity.
