- Abstract
The article discusses the establishment of a formal opioid stewardship committee (OSPC) at Boone Health, an independent hospital located in Columbia, Missouri, which aimed to decrease opioid waste and decrease opportunities for diversion throughout the hospital. Topics include investigation made by the committee on the utilization and waste of fentanyl in all areas of the hospital, the challenge in the implementation in the surgical areas of the hospital, and evaluation of the initiative.
