- Authors
Smith, Russell G.
- Abstract
The article examines the existing data on fraud trends in Australia as well as describes ways of improving the level of understanding of the extent to which such crime takes place. It notes that statistical information allows crime and criminal behaviour to be better understood especially how patterns of offending change over time. The Australian Bureau of Criminal Intelligence (ABCI) has its Australian Criminal Intelligence Database (ACID) that records information for intelligence purpose using the Internet technology.
