- Abstract
The article discusses the health effects of cytomegalovirus on infants with very low-birth weight. Topics mentioned include the association of cytomegalovirus with the increase in infant morbidity such as hearing and respiratory diseases, the susceptibility of very low-birth weight infants (VLBW) with weak immune systems to acquire the virus, and the most common reason why VLBW infants are exposed to virus.
