- Abstract
The article focuses on public health concern with Powassan virus (POWV) such as possible mosquito and tick-borne infection. It mentions risk of increased transmission of POWV, especially in individuals who engage in outdoor work or recreational activities and POWV can cause severe disease of the central nervous system such as meningoencephalitis. It also mentions measures to prevent tick bites include wearing protective clothing and insect repellent.
