The author reflects on the important role of physicians in preparing Canadians for the possible legalization of physician-assisted dying. Topics covered include the decision of the Supreme Court of Canada with regards to the case of Carter v. Canada (Attorney General) which is about physician-assisted dying, the limitations of physician-assisted dying, and how physicians can support evidence-based policies, procedures and practices relating to physician-assisted dying.
