- Abstract
The article focuses on research problems related to science education at the junior high school level. To address problems relating to junior high school students, research should be carried out to find the motivating elements so that students can attain higher standards than is customary. Besides, research for revision of content needs to be done to eliminate obsolete material and to introduce more modern and contemporary subject matter. Besides, better provision should be researched for the needs of the slow learners and the gifted student. Research and development of more effective evaluation of outcomes of instruction also needs attention. Some other topics include establishment of more functional types of laboratory experiments, availability of better experiment equipments, visual aids and effective use of them. In addition, certain problems related to junior high school science teachers include providing these teachers with the needed familiarity with science equipment and materials of instruction, giving them experience in improvising equipment and providing them with a better understanding of the teaching procedures they are expected to use.
