- Title
Die erste Häkelmaschine der Welt: Hochschule Bielefeld (HSBI).
- Abstract
Bielefeld University has developed a prototype of the world's most advanced crochet machine. The CroMat project aims to automate crocheting and demonstrate the variety of textile structures that can be automated. The prototype, called CroMat, is patented and is a direct successor to the first crochet machine patent from 2017. The machine uses CNC milling and 3D printing to translate complex hand movements into programming commands. The goal is to make crocheted textiles attractive for industrial applications and ensure the reproducibility of the textiles. The machine could also be used for the production of fiber-reinforced composites with near-net shape.
