Leerstellendefekte verleihen Aktivität an multimetallische Legierungen für Kathoden‐Redoxreaktionen in Lithium‐Schwefel‐Batterien. J.‐Q. Huang et al. zeigen in ihrer Zuschrift auf S. 3819 ff., dass das Einführen und In‐situ‐Ätzen eines extrinsischen Metalls in einer monometallischen Verbindung die ursprünglich inerte Phase aktiviert, um Oberflächenreaktionen unter Polysulfidbeteiligung bei hoher Geschwindigkeit kinetisch anzutreiben. Es wird eine bemerkenswerte Zyklenstabilität bei einer hohen Schwefelbeladung von 4.8 mg cm−2 gefunden.
