- Abstract
The article presents synthesis and fabrication of WC particulate reinforced Ni3Al intermetallic matrix composite coating by laser powder deposition. The laser deposition experiment was conducted by a 3 kW carbon dioxide laser with a coaxial powder nozzle. A WC particulate reinforced Ni3Al intermetallic matrix composite coating was successfully synthesized and fabricated by laser powder deposition with Ni/Al composite powders blended with WC sintered powders. Additionally, Iron was transferred into the coating from the substrate in order to improve the ductility.
