- Title
A PROBLEM IN THE ESTIMATION OF DOUBLE-LOG ENGEL CURVES.
- Authors
Creedy, John
- Abstract
This article discusses on the problem in the estimation of income elasticities of demand when information about individuals is not available and where households cannot be broken down into groups which are homogeneous with respect to household composition. This matter is particularly important in family surveys where the usual method is to group all households according to total income and to give the average household expenditure and average household composition of those in each income group.
