- Abstract
The article analyzes travel accounts about Scandinavia and the perceptions of Scandinavia expressed by these travel accounts, with the term Scandinavia meaning the five Nordic countries of Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, and Finland. The accounts are only those by private individuals, not professional travel entities, and these have been limited to foreigners visiting a Scandinavian country for the first time. It is noted that nature and the northern landscape serve as one of the primary images of Scandinavia and one of the principal subjects in Internet travel accounts of Scandinavia.
