- Abstract
The article investigates how an in-service course applying the Investigative Science in Elementary Education-Instructional Television (ISEE-ITV) model of instruction supported by professional reinforcement affected the attitude of elementary teachers toward a leadership role within their respective school buildings. Armed with a three year grant that would offer financial support for science equipment, videotapes, and substitutes' salaries, the science supervisor of an urban, central Pennsylvania School district challenged 21 school teachers to become proficient at using a science inquiry used by teachers in the ISEE-ITV project. A chart is also presented depicting the summary of responses of 19 of the 21 in-service teachers involved in the project.
