- Abstract
A solvent-free hyperbranched organosilicon resin (HSR) was prepared through a one-pot hydrolytic-condensation reaction using methyltriethoxysilane, dimethyldichlorosilane, and trimethylchlorosilane. The chemical structure was characterized by Fourier infrared transform spectroscopy and silicon nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. The rheology, heat resistance and mechanical properties of HSR modified methyl organosilicon resin (SH9502) were systematically studied. The results showed that the addition of HSR could significantly reduce the viscosity and improve the heat resistance of HSR/SH9502 coating. With the increase of HSR content, the mechanical properties, flame retardancy, contact angle and many other properties of the coating were improved. When the content of HSR was 12% (mass fraction), the coating showed excellent mechanical properties, with no significant changes after high temperature treatment. At the same time, it showed excellent flame retardancy, adhesion and water resistance, and demonstrated great prospects in the field of high temperature flame retardant coatings.
