- Abstract
Placenta accreta spectrum disorder (PASD) is a condition where the placenta attaches abnormally to the uterus due to prior damage. This disorder has become more common with the increase in procedures like cesarean delivery. Ultrasound is typically used to evaluate the uterus, but it has limitations. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a complementary tool that offers advantages such as better tissue contrast and a larger field of view. Three articles in the Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging explore the use of deep learning algorithms to diagnose PASD using MRI. These studies show promising results and have the potential to improve the management of high-risk deliveries.
