- Abstract
The objective of this work was to evaluate the production and quality of Albizia lebbeck (L.) Benth. in response to the application of different formulations and doses of Osmocote®. The experimental design was in randomized blocks, with three replications, in a 3 x 5 factorial scheme, and the effect of three Osmocote® formulations was studied (Osmocote® MiniPrill Controlled Realise 06-19-10 with release of 3 to 4 months; Osmocote® Plus (with Micro-Nutrient) 09-15-12 with release period of 5 to 6 months; Osmocote® Plus (with Micro-Nutrient) 09-15-12 with release period of 7 to 8 months, and five dosages of the same (0; 2.5; 5.0; 7.5 and 10.0 g dm-3). Each experimental unit consisted of 12 seedlings. At 120 days, height (H; cm), stem diameter (DC, mm), shoot dry matter (MSPA; g plant-1), root dry matter (MSR; g plant-1) and total dry matter (MST = MSPA + MSR; g plant-1), in addition to the H relationships /MSPA, MSPA/MSR and Dickson Quality Index (DQI). The 0.0 g dm-3 dose of Osmocote® MiniPrill Controlled Realise 19-06-10 (released over 3 to 4 months) provided the lowest value for shoot height/shoot dry mass ratio in albizia seedlings. The highest value of the Dickson Quality Index in the seedlings was observed at the dose of 10.0 g dm-3.
