- Title
Author's reply re: Infant microbiota and antibiotic prophylaxis in caesarean delivery.

- Abstract
In caesarean deliveries, mothers were administered perioperative prophylaxis only after clamping of the umbilical cord, making it possible to focus on the independent effects of delivery mode on the gut microbiota. Couples who are concerned about early neonatal colonisation should be informed that other factors, such as early skin-to-skin contact and breastfeeding, have the potential to overcome the risks of caesarean section, regardless of antibiotic prophylaxis timing.
