- Abstract
The experiment was to investigate the effect of chlorogenic acid supplementation on reproductive performance of sows. Forty sows with similar body weight parity, simultaneous estrus were randomly divided into four groups, with four replicates in each group and three sows in each replicate. Sows in control group were fed with basal diet, sows in group â… , group â…¡ and group â…¢ were fed with basal diet supplemented with 200, 400 and 600 mg/kg chlorogenic acid, respectively. The results showed that the total number of piglets, number of piglets born alive, number of piglets born healthy and litter weight of piglets born in group â…¡ were significantly higher than those in other groups (P<0.05). The number of piglets weaned at 21 d and litter weight of group â…¡ were significantly higher than those of other groups (P<0.05). Compared with control group, the content of IgG, IgA and IgM in serum of sows in group â…¡ and group â…¢ were significantly higher than control group (P<0.05). Compared with control group, the content of IgG, IgA and IgM in serum of piglets in group â…¡ and group â…¢ were significantly increased (P<0.05). The experiment indicates that chlorogenic acid can improve the reproductive performance of sows and enhance the immunity of sows and piglets, and the appropriate supplemental is 400 mg/kg.
