- Abstract
The article reports on specifications for food additives and flavoring agents released by the Joint FAO (Food & Agriculture Organization of the United Nations)/WHO (World Health Organization) Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA). Topics discussed include specifications of food additives that contain phosphate and magnesium, the toxicological concerns associated with aliphatic hydrocarbons-based flavoring agents, and safety evaluation of pyridine, pyrrole and quinoline derivatives.
