- Abstract
This research examines one of the lost books on the history of Medina, which is the book: Al-Harrah by Abu Al-Hasan Al-Madeni (225 AH / 840 AD). The research tried to answer the questions about the attribution of the book to the author, the date of its authoring, the date when it was lost, the nature of its material, the sources its author used, and its effect on the historians who came after the author. The most important findings of the research are: 1-Abu Al-Hasan Al-Madeni is considered one of the narrators who were accepted by the scholars of Al-jarh and amendment. 2- Abu Al-Hasan Al-Madeni included many useful classifications. 3- Abu Al-Hasan Al-Madeni singled out the battle of Al-Harrah in an independent classification. 4- The size of the book is close to average. 5- The book remained in circulation until the time of Ibn Al-Jawzi. 6- Historians from different eras were interested in reading the book and referring to it.
