- Abstract
The presnt study aims at investigating the awareness of married female university students at the University of Sharjah of the importance of Premedical examination and its impact on reproductive health. The current study adopted the theory of rational choice as an explanatory framework for interpreting this phenomenon. The researcher also adopted a descriptive study based on the sample survey methodology. To achieve the objectives of the present study, a questionnaire was used. This questionnaire included two parts, the first part represented general informatin about the nature of the selected sample and the dgree of students awareness of the impact of pre-medical examination. The second part, however, focused on the reproductive health among the same sample. After measuring the statistical indicators of validity and consistency of the proposed questionnaire, a purposive sample of 150 married female students from the University of Sharjah was selectsd. Based on the findings and results of the given questionnaire, the study came to a number of inferences, among which we state the following: the high awareness of the importance of medical examination among the female students had an obvious role in keeping them in good reproductive health, while the students with low awareness suffered from poor reproductive health.
