- Abstract
The article focuses on areas that are pertinent to the prevention and mitigation of an engineering firm's liabilities. Particular attention is paid to the predesign phase. The article states that this phase should focus on meeting the client, and assessing character, finances and needs. The project should also be evaluated before considering a new vendor, geographic location and the complexity of the project are also important considerations. Additionally, the design phase topics are addressed, and the construction phase topics, particularly site observations and shop drawings review are focused on.
