- Abstract
Four oat strains (26, 43, NTU and Swan) cultured in north and south Taiwan that harvested in three periods (flowering, F; flowering+6d; flowering+18d) were collected for in vitro digestion assay. All samples were analyzed the chemical composition, and then compared with near infrared reflectance spectroscopy (NIRS) assay results. The dry matter digestibility (IVDMD) and neutral detergent fiber digestibility (IVNDFD) were determined by in vitro digestion assay to determine the effect from strains and harvest periods. The harvest period also showed effect on the composition except ADF. Significant effects were showed among strains, harvest period and the interaction of two factors in the IVNDFD of oats from south area. Both NDF and ADF showed negative correlated with IVDMD. The result suggested that the strain 43 oat at F+18d had better feeding value.
