- Abstract
An essay is presented on the popularity of the reality television (TV) programs in the U.S. It analyzes several studies on the subject and presents an overview of some significant findings related to factual entertainment and reality TV. It explains that the elements of modern reality TV can be witnessed in both non-fictional entertainment shows and documentaries. It informs that several producers of reality TV including "The Hills and Jersey Shore" are accused of malpractice.
