The cuticle of Limulus, the puparium of Hypoderma, and Squilla were treated with hot concentrated potash and sections examined in dilute acetic acid. Persistent laminar membranes were observed, and the pore canals were frequently represented by insoluble residues. The location and possible nature of the insoluble material is discussed.
