- Abstract
The article focuses on nosocomial infections, also known as hospital-acquired infections (HAIs), and discusses new developments in the field of medical nonwovens that are designed to inhibit bacterial and viral growth in medical settings. It states that, according to World Health Organization (WHO), nosocomial infections are continuously developing in nearly nine percent of all patients and discusses pathogens causing HAIs that include bacteria Clostridium difficile and staphylococcus aureus.
