- Title
When Problems on Exams Are Harder Than the Identical Problems in the Homework.
- Authors
Ruekberg, Benjamin
- Abstract
The author comments on the tendency of college students to find problems on a science test harder than the homework assigned, even when test questions are taken directly from the homework. He attributes the discrepancy between students' efforts and the test results to the problems in the text being too well labeled. To resolve the discrepancy, he suggests reproducing some problems with labels and then a larger group of unlabeled problems in no particular order.
