- Abstract
The objective of this study is to determine the opinions of theology faculty students about contributions of the Turkish religious music (TRM) lesson. Questionnaire technique was practiced as using data collection method with 2. grade students receiving this lesson in Tekirdağ Namık Kemal University Faculty of Theology for this purpose. Used descriptive statistics and non-parametric tests at evaluation of obtained datas from questionnaires. According to study findings; students indicated that they gained important knowledge regarding the place of music in Islam after receiving the TRM lesson, strongly agreed that this lesson made great contributions recognition using instruments and important composers, distinction different forms and some the modes of Qurān and azans, performing them more comfortably in such matters as. In addition to this; it was determined that there were statistically significant differences between the skills of students to discern the modes of Qurān and azans according to their genders.
